Jed Jackson has been painting for over 50 years. The paintings seen here represent a lifelong effort to unite painting form and content. The works tend to the satirical. Neither the "upper crust" or the "hoi polloi" are spared.
Painting, the "aristocrat" of the fine arts, is loved, studied, practiced and cherished.
MFA and BFA Degrees from Cornell and the Memphis Academy of Art were earned in 1980 and 1977 respectively.
Teaching at the University level has occupied Jackson since 1980. Numerous grants and awards have been obtained over the years. Many collections, both public and private, hold his paintings.
